This legendary exclusive revolving restaurant was officially opened in February 1973. The Roma was born from a concept pioneered by Bartholoeo Ribero, Turi and Gino Leopardi. Now proudly owned by the Reelin Group and managed by the Leopardi brothers. We are proud to say that we are the only genuine revolving restaurant in the southern hemisphere and the 3rd of its kind in the world. Roma Revolving Restaurant also boasts the unique feature, as two others do, of a revolving window and floor area! The restaurant is situated on the 32nd Level of the John Ross House overlooking the whole of Durban and surrounding areas with excellent sea and bay views.

    Food was average and a bit overpriced. No attention to detail on how the food was served. Drinks were watered down. Toilets could have been cleaner and the restaurant itself could do with a bit of dusting. The views were amazing and without that it is a very very average restaurant. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

    Location - if it was in Ballito, Umhlanga area, it will be doing fantastic. The current location ( unfortunately you can’t move a revolving restaurant- or can you? ) is not the best due to the area. Food is good, Service excellent and the view, there is no comparison 👏👏

    The big beef fillet on porcini mushroom sauce and the Tiramisu were excellent. Authentically Italian. 5 star.

    My experience was not nice at all ,we waited over and hour to be attended to,then came the food ,mine was not bad but not good either,while the person I was with order some steak with pepper sauce then was it was served with some white tasteless sauce.I wanted to order dessert so there is man with a trolley who serves dessert,had to wait for like 20-30min for him and when he finally came,he went to the next table ,to people that did not even call for him then left without even serving us .I was pissed so we literally just left .
