This legendary exclusive revolving restaurant was officially opened in February 1973. The Roma was born from a concept pioneered by Bartholoeo Ribero, Turi and Gino Leopardi. Now proudly owned by the Reelin Group and managed by the Leopardi brothers. We are proud to say that we are the only genuine revolving restaurant in the southern hemisphere and the 3rd of its kind in the world. Roma Revolving Restaurant also boasts the unique feature, as two others do, of a revolving window and floor area! The restaurant is situated on the 32nd Level of the John Ross House overlooking the whole of Durban and surrounding areas with excellent sea and bay views.

    Food was excellent however service was very slow until we got served by the elder males then it improved. Waitress never brought breadsticks to table yet brought to tables around us. Also had to wait 20 minutes for the desert cart to be brought which at that point was tired of waiting. Starters and mains where delicious and had no problems.

    A Durban institution that is still run by the original owners (50 odd years) and Gino still takes your order. My daughters first time and she loved it.
