    One of my favorite breakfast spots ... but the service is exceptionally slow. Had brekkie there 3 times recently and waited forever for the food, every time.

    My dish was made twice and was still a disaster. Left hungry.

    The service was poor; we had to keep looking for our waiter to get additional items/drinks. No one came to check up on ours during the full time we were there.

After receiving your review, we carefully reviewed the CCTV footage from your visit. Our records show that your waiter attended your table nine times during your meal, from welcoming you and taking your order through to clearing your table and processing your payment. Your drinks were served approximately 10 minutes after ordering, and your breakfast arrived within 28 minutes during what was one of our busiest Sunday breakfast services. That said, we understand that good service is about more than the number of table visits. If you felt you had difficulty getting your waiter's attention or that you weren't checked on at the right moments, we sincerely apologise. Your perception of the experience is important to us, and we'll use your feedback to continue improving our service. We appreciate you giving us a try and hope you'll consider visiting us again so we can provide you with the experience we strive to deliver.

    As usual we always have a great time at Salt&sage and quiz night was great as usual, food absolutely delicious and service was great as always, our favourite place .

    The food here never misses for me (especially the lovely birthday brownie I received!). However, this was my first time at the restaurant since they had moved from the old premises, and there were a few things that knocked down the rating. Firstly, there seems to be a ventilation issue. Whilst we love the open kitchen concept, the smoke etc coming from the kitchen was a bit agitating on the lungs and might be even more so for someone with any sort of lung conditions. Second, there seems to be a lot of noise, which may be down to the fact that the place is open but not very massive, but this does make conversation very difficult. I would still recommend this restaurant, purely as the food is so lovely, but I would hope that they perhaps take the above into account where possible.

Unfortunately, the ventilation has been an ongoing concern for us as well. We've raised the issue with our landlords on numerous occasions, as the ventilation system was installed by them, but despite our efforts we haven't yet had the improvements we'd hoped for. Please know that it's something we're actively trying to resolve. Regarding the noise levels, we completely understand your comments. Moving was never part of our plan—we were unfortunately left with the choice of relocating or closing our doors. The move came at a cost of over R350,000, which meant we had to make the very best of the space we could afford. While the layout isn't perfect, we've worked hard to create a warm and welcoming environment where our food remains the star of the experience. Thank you again for your recommendation and for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back again soon.
