Our Farm to Your Fork
We believe good food starts at the source.

Our beef, lamb and chicken are pasture-raised, our vegetables come predominantly from our own pesticide-free, regenerative farm project in Khayelitsha, and our fish is line-caught and wild whenever possible. We proudly support small-scale farmers, work only with family-run, traceable dairy, and craft everything from scratch — including our bread and pasta.

We cook over open fire and stick to what’s local, seasonal, and organic wherever we can. Even our food waste goes full circle — composted back into the soil that grows our next harvest.

Every plate tells a story. And it starts with care.

Tambourine was excellent. It is such a pleasure eating at a fine-dining restaurant where there are vegan meals readily available on the menu, and the vegetarian meals could be easily adjusted to make them vegan. The service was excellent and the food equally so. Definitely worth a visit.

Tambourine is my go-to place for special dinners. I've been four times and it has consistently impressed. Great food, fantastic hospitality—I highly recommend it.

The location is stunning, but sadly the restaurant seemed to have accepted more reservations than they could handle. The food was delayed, they ran out of bread, and dishes were served with ingredients we had clearly mentioned we are allergic to. I hope these are just opening challenges and that things will improve soon. At the moment, it feels average.

The food was tasty and the diversity of the dishes was interesting. Not every dish was absolutely brilliant. But I left feeling completely and utterly ripped, the kind of feeling you get when dining on the canals of Venice. I took my two nieces and partner out for dinner and the bill with 10% tip came to R5000! This is utterly outrageous. Clearly this restaurant does not cater to local budgets, but rather to internationals living off pounds sterling or euros. We will not be back.

We had an indifferent experience at Tambourine. We had a late booking (20:30) but we were not told upon booking that the kitchen would close at 21:00… until we had passed this time and wanted to add an an additional starter/sharing plate. I received so many emails informing me that it was a 2 hour booking I had - but the kitchen closed at 21:00 and then the desert options closed at 21:30…. So leaving only the possibility 60mins to sit there to ensure that I would get to my 2 hours The food was ok - some dishes hit the tastes buds like an explosion of loveliness but other dishes seemed under seasoned or bland. Overall - I would not advise to go there unless they change their kitchen opening hours policy and also adding some seasoning to the food.
