The atmosphere, location, and service were impeccable. The savory offerings were divine, BUT the sweet offerings need alot of improvement. The heart and passion fruit petit fours tasted very unpleasant, quite chemical tasting in our opinion. The potted mousse was also very hard and not creamy at all. Quite disappointed with the sweets. Tea was fabulous though

We had the loveliest afternoon at Alice in the Woods, and the experience was truly special. The ambience and décor are absolutely stunning — whimsical, elegant, and perfectly set up for an indulgent high tea. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond, and I must mention Sonto and Smiles, who were especially kind, attentive, and passionate. They really made the afternoon memorable. The bubbles on arrival were delicious and set the tone beautifully, and the tea selection was excellent — a real highlight. Presentation of the food was gorgeous and very thoughtfully arranged. However, we did feel that overall the food lacked a little in flavour. The charcoal beef sandwich and the truffle vol-au-vent stood out as truly delicious, but some of the other savoury bites and sweets were under-seasoned or simply very sweet without much depth. The textures were excellent, but the flavours could have been more versatile and balanced. Unfortunately, the chocolate mousse cup in particular was disappointing, as it tasted like low-quality baking chocolate and didn’t match the standard of the rest of the offering. That said, we still thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. The venue, the atmosphere, and above all the exceptional service made it such a beautiful experience. With a little more focus on flavour, the food could easily match the high standards set by everything else.
