The Blue Room at Grub & Vine is our live music and cocktail lounge that pays homage to the soulful sounds of jazz and the blues. A collaborative venture between Grub & Vine's Chef Patron Matt Manning and well-known jazz artist Buddy Wells, the lounge also sports a state-of-the-art recording studio, where you'll catch musicians in action from time to time.

Located on the ground floor of 103 Bree Street, the Blue Room features a bespoke cocktail menu - with delicious concoctions such as the 'Ella Fizzgerald' (gin, lime, rhubarb, fennel and Brut MCC) and 'Muddy Waters' (Bourbon, dry sherry, vanilla maple and naartjie) - as well as a delectable selection of small plates for guests to nibble on.

The Blue Room is open for lunch from Monday - Friday, brunch on Saturdays and tapas and cocktails at night, while live performances from some of the country's top jazz, soul and blues artists will be a regular evening occurrence.

    Was surprised to pay a cover charge at a restaurant in CT. Pigalles which is a 5 star establishment does not even charge a cover charge. Steak was tasty but for the price expected more. Chips were amazing. Wine was lovely.

    The experience felt quite unorganised, and the staff seemed unsure which menu was supposed to be used. Charging R65 for a single slice of bread cut into four pieces felt extremely overpriced, especially considering that bread is often complimentary at many restaurants.

    This was an absolutely fantastic experience!! The interior design of the restaurant is extremely aesthetic through its potraits of legendary musicians lining the walls, chic table & seating arrangements atop a floor plan that offers a vantage perspective from the moment you enter the door - all elevated by the ambient lighting and balanced by the calming scent produced by the reed diffusers. The service is top notch (thank you Simba!) with an impeccable food & drinks menu to satisfy a broad palette. The entertainment was spectacular and deeply moving! I will certainly be back! For prospective diners, I would recommend a minimum budget of R400.00/person as there is also a cover charge should you make a reservation (highly recommended as the restaurant reaches its maximum diner occupancy rather quickly due to the evening performances & seating cannot guaranteed for walk-in customers).

    We were celebrating my birthday and the experience compared to a normal dinner were 100/100. It was amazing and wont forgot the experience. Thank you once again.
