Party of 8. Two vegans, who enjoyed the variety of a dedicated and creative vegan menu. Our server was very pleasant. However the service was a bit haphazard. Food order was taken before drinks. Drinks order was taken in fits and starts. Some empty plates were left on the table for much longer than one would expect at a restaurant of this level. Overall, service was slow, and felt unplanned and distracted.

Being a foodie, and with the sole purpose of reviewing the food and service for my clients, I must say the experience during lunch time service was really amazing and pleasantly delightful. I chose the citrus theme starting oysters, pork belly and citrus brule, paired with Klein constantia sauv blanc, and ended off with a double shot black americano no sugar. The best dish, the desert, it had these delightful flavors of grapefruit, lemon and orange with biscotti and a citrus foam ..and the slightly caramelized sugar perfect on the brulee. It ticked all the boxes. I must mention one more delight..the pork belly mains had these mini apples, which looked like cherries and a real treat. I had a giggle like a little child seeing something so delightful for the first time. It was just lovely. Service...could not fault from front house to meeting the pastry chef Portia. I had to meet her. Ferika, and Linda, wow class indeed. I would be going back, my clients would be more than satisfied visiting this exquisite place nestled in the heart of the mountainside. The physician of Simon van Der Stel owned this place and the surroundings are a wow. Peaceful and beauty, wholesome and luxurious all in one. Well done to the chefs. Believe me when say...well done.

We absolutely loved sitting at that table in the conservatory, surrounded by gorgeous scenery both inside and outside the venue. We also loved the top class service by friendly and charming staff. However, although the presentation of our food was brilliant we were somewhat disappointed by the actual eating of it. Three of us ordered kingklip. The dishes arrived looking spectacular but the fish was overcooked and not even the sauce could redeem it. And the beans and broccoli were so al dente that even the different knives we asked for could not cut them. I ordered creme brulee for dessert and have never had such a disappointment. It was a pale rectangular slice of mush with no evidence of brulee and served with an overload of dry, uninteresting biscotti. As a friend says: "you cant eat with white gloves".
