A big thank you to Franco and his team for helping us arrange our Company year end function at the picnic site on Saturday. It could not have been better. The venue was stunning, the food was great and plenty of food for a picnic basket, and the service was outstanding. We really appreciate it! I would highly recommend the Country Kitchen picnic to anyone looking for a corporate function or just a lovely day out.

The picnic is a real joke. 1000ZAR for two persons and what you get for what is way below value. After arriving the lady handed us over the basket and tols us to pick one of the bottles of wine on the list provided. She also asked do you want sparkling or still water without telling is was not complimentary. Since we were settled, the food was not tasty, bread was old and no one checked if everything was fine. After 40 minutes we packed everything and went back to the waiters to hand them over the basket and asked to swap the bottle of wine since we didn’t use it. First the waiter told me that we had to pay the difference between the first picked bottle and the new one altogether we could have picked any more expensive when arriving. In the end he agreed we could pick another one without additional charge. So when we were good to go they gave me a bill for the bottle and water! What a scam and the manager did nothing to solve the issue. Stay away from Mont Rochelle!

Some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. It was lukewarm and seemed to have been cooked some time before and heated up in a microwave. Greasy and unpleasant.
