Your Italian Restaurant in Cape Town

The Cousins Trattoria was an idea created by Andrea, Simone and Luca who wanted to bring their knowledge and passion for food to Cape Town.

These cousins from Romagna, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, have lived in (and loved) Cape Town for many years, but felt there was not a place in the city where they could find the simple, authentic Italian food they had grown up with, in their homeland.

So joining their skills, they opened The Cousins Trattoria, where Andrea makes fresh pasta every morning, using only fresh and natural ingredients, just like Mama does! Bread and tiramisu are baked daily; great coffee and a passion for service makes this easy going place a heaven for the senses.

    What a find1 The Cousins has a sense of authentic from the moment you arrive. The ambience, food, service tick all boxes. The Cousins house pasta specialty is sublime. My only gripe would be something many servers suffer from. When they don't want to notice you they don't - especially at bill time. Donel who was amazing throughout ignored several gestures in his direction. Donal was metres from us, but pretended not to notice. Nothing is more annoying than when you're ready to leave and bill time takes an eternity to conclude. The Cousins was exceptional on every level and explains why they're fully booked and have to stagger time slots to fit in all the reservations.

    Delicious food, good-sized portions and quick service. The four of us enjoyed a range of dishes from the main menu and the dishes of the day.
