The Grill Jichana, located at Southern Sun Rosebank, boasts robust flavours of the African East Coast spice route complementing succulent cuts of meat, chicken and fish creating the essence of ‘eating good’ or Jichana in Swahili slang. The perfect venue for lunch, dinner or afternoon drinks soaking up the Rosebank view from the terrace.

Dishes are created with flair, flavoured with fragrant cassia, cardamom, turmeric and other heady spices and prepared using the freshest ingredients.

    The food was lovely and so was our waitress but the service was unfortunately really slow. We had to go find the waitress a couple of times and pour our own wine.

    We celebrated our 5-year anniversary with elegance and class. The 5 star treatment from Nonhlanhla, the food and the surprise setup was outstanding. Definitely the best in town, not to forget Southern Sun Rosebank..the rooms are clean

    Our Good Friday lunch was excellent, we were also celebrating our anniversary, so the table was nicely set up and we received an extra gesture for our special occasion. It's my second year visiting, I will surely come back :-)

    Service, food, table setting were all great The web advertisement gave the idea that the restaurant provides a view over the city, both in wording and in photographs of the venue. Sadly this was not the case as the restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the hotel.

    We had a really great meal. Our only issue was that, although the restaurant is beautiful, with understated elegance & fantastic service, it’s also almost empty. One gentleman sat near us and spoke into his phone, which was on loudspeaker, most of our meal. I think it should be made clear by the staff that that isn’t in line with the ambiance of the restaurant.

    I made a dinner reservation and got confirmations via sms and email. I drove there with excitement to celebrate my mom's birthday with the family. Only to be turned back by the security because the place is not operational!. This was not stated anywhere. The hotel receptionist couldn't even explain why I keep being referred to them instead of the restaurant. Very disappointing!
