The Grill Jichana, located at Southern Sun Rosebank, boasts robust flavours of the African East Coast spice route complementing succulent cuts of meat, chicken and fish creating the essence of ‘eating good’ or Jichana in Swahili slang. The perfect venue for lunch, dinner or afternoon drinks soaking up the Rosebank view from the terrace.

Dishes are created with flair, flavoured with fragrant cassia, cardamom, turmeric and other heady spices and prepared using the freshest ingredients.

    We had a very relaxing time and never felt rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and food and highly recommend a visit. Service was good. Only issue was that once i placed my order i was later informed that the item was not available so i had to change to an alternative dish. The alternative was delicious and other than this small issue we had a very lovely tome and will be back.

    An exceptional experience… ! We will choose Jichana Rosebank as our celebration culinary destination in 2026. Pepper crusted Ostrich and Duck followed by Amarula Crème Brûlée our farewell meal to 2025! Just perfect! Thanks to Jacob for his concerted effort to make this a memorable occasion.

    Good day I would have loved to be notified of the Christmas menu before getting to the restaurant. My kids were under the impression that they could order from the main menu but to their disappointment they couldn’t.

    The dinner was so good and the restaurant and waiter Nonhlanhla went above and beyond to make the night special and even offered me and my husband a birthday cake in celebration of my husbands birthday that evening.

    Everything was perfect, from the food to the service. Our waiter Busani is knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and it shows in the way things flowed. What a lovely place to dine.
