The Grill Jichana, located at Southern Sun Rosebank, boasts robust flavours of the African East Coast spice route complementing succulent cuts of meat, chicken and fish creating the essence of ‘eating good’ or Jichana in Swahili slang.     The dinner was so good and the restaurant and waiter Nonhlanhla went above and beyond to make the night special and even offered me and my husband a birthday cake in celebration of my husbands birthday that evening.

    Everything was perfect, from the food to the service. Our waiter Busani is knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and it shows in the way things flowed. What a lovely place to dine.

    Waiter was extremely rude. Food is okay; however, requires improvement. The steak was not done as requested. I asked for medium and got medium well instead. Jollof rice was lovely. But the waiter spoilt my entire night. He was rude and moody. Staff needs training on how to treat customers and overall how to perform their duties. It felt like the waiter was doing us a favour by serving us. At some point, he just threw the plate on the table and left. Wow.

    Menu advertised tiger prawns but prince prawns served, restaurant and waiters should inform guests as a courtesy. Food, especially desserts were not fresh. Thanks
