Our restaurant offers the perfect environment from which to escape the hustle and bustle of city-life. The light and contemporary space with a double volume ceiling, wood finishes, earthy tones and South African decor, offers panoramic views of Table Mountain, Table Bay, the rolling hills and vineyards. The wooden deck is the perfect setting for sipping on a glass of crisp Sauvignon Blanc whilst the kids are entertained in the play-area. The menu prepared by head chef Tamzyn Ehlers is simple, unpretentious yet sophisticated, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner on selected evenings. The menu is colourful and creative with an elegant flair.

    Food was good but service was poor. We had to request a wine list. It took quite a while to order drinks. Bread arrived less than 5 minutes before starters leaving us with a cramped table. We had to request for cutlery to eat our dessert. The bill was also an issue as the deposit was not credited to the final bill and a manual calculation was done by our waitress after I pointed it out. This is hopefully an outlier experience but I was disappointed by our Father's day lunch experience.

    Service was a little slow because all the waitresses were serving two large tables. Our waitress was very good but she also had to assist the larger group.

    It was big airy without atmosphere, the view was not possible too experience inside the restaurant.

    The Tangram stays true to its reputation as a great restaurant. We had a wonderful lunch on Father's Day and the food and wine were exceptional.
