A true Inner City haven, The Village Idiot is a vintage Neighbourhood Bar & Restaurant that enthusiastically embraces South African braai culture. This is a place where we raise our glasses to foolish renegades, adventurous idiots and all the people who refuse to live by the rules of conformity.

Relax, unwind and indulge in true laidback living. The large balcony plays host to a variety of braai events in the summertime and offers unrivalled views of the vibrant concrete jungle below. During the colder months, the charming colonial fireplace makes the whole space feel warm and cosy, perfect for those chilly winter nights.

Our menu is a melting pot of traditional and modern South African cultures, smashed together with loads of flavour.

The venue boasts multiple mounted TV Screens and a large Drop-down Projector for the screening of sports events. Live music and in-house DJs create a vibe that carries the party well into the early hours of the morning.
