Your Hosts - Matteo Santini & Maurizio Carlo. These Two where born and raised in Italy. Matteo In the Beautiful Bolognia and Maurizio in Fiery Florence. They have both Traveled the world for the past 10 years and Finally decided to Settle in our beautiful Cape Town. Together have taken over THE WOODLANDS EATERY as of the 01 June 2017.

They strive to incorporate authentic Italian cuisine combined with the delicious existing local flavors. We welcome you into their home and hope that you enjoy and feel part of the famiglia

    I had booked a table well in advance for 2 people. On arrival we were seated at a table where you literally had to squeeze in. Once seated you could not move. We also could not understand the waiter and he struggled to understood us. Ordered the caprese salad. It was lovely and fresh. For mains we ordered the fresh seared Tuna with Pistachio crust and pan fried hake. 15 min later we were informed there was no tuna. We then ordered the steak with chimichurri. We were off to a show at the Artscape and I had to check on the meals twice. Finally they arrived but now we had no cutlery! Hake was lovely, but served in a bowl with lots of sauce and a side salad also in a bowl which was difficult to eat. Steak was awful, very tough and not worth the price. The restaurant has potential but there there is no one to supervise what is going on, it failed to deliver and was rather disappointing. Sadly I won’t be back.

    What a gem! This place is classic Italian, with a typical Capetonian flavour! Portions are substantial, food is super delicious, great ambiance, terrific service! Just a super special place! We'll be back.... again, and again

    The food is really good but quite expensive. They should add more cheese on the pizza. The toppings are very stingy added. The waiters were not very present. They didn’t offer my baby a high chair i had to ask. The tables are small so space is not great. The table light wasn’t working properly so you kind of eat in the dark during dinner. The lights need to be charged more often. The toilet is on the upper level and the stairs look quite dangerous. You have to be careful when going up or down the stairs as the waiters are up and down the stairs with food , which makes walking pass cramped. Literally only 1 person can go at a time. There is also only one toilet for both men & women to use.

Regarding the toilet, there are 2 toilets in the restaurant, 1 upstairs & 1 downstairs, apologies for the misunderstanding as you were sitting downstairs and you could have use the one on the same floor.
