1 November 1999 saw two impeccably well-aged and obviously grain fed “boys” Laz and Derryck, open the doors at Butcher Boys, Florida Road. Flash forward almost two decades and we’re still known for a great dining experience that delivers the finest beef on offer.
Our top class service is surpassed only by our unforgettable food, and our patrons can now experience this in two unique locations since Butcher Boys Umhlanga became the newest addition in March 2017.

Our beef is either wet or dry aged, depending on the cut, please feel free to visit our in store butchery for your special requests. It’s then basted with our famous basting sauce before being grilled to absolute Perfection. Over 17 years of passion and great flavours have shaped our adventurous menu that offers nothing but variety and total satisfaction. Our extensive selection of vintage wines, stored in our refrigerated wine cellar at an optimum temperature of 16-17 degrees, will enhance every meal and turn it into a special occasion.

    There was drilling right next to us in the kitchen, we had to ask it to stop. The service was very slow, we had to keep calling the waiter and pour our own wine. Prawns were hard and tasteless, completely overpriced, my client didn't eat their ribs. I paid the bill, didnt want to complain while entertaining clients, but will certainly never be back

    Food is usually good, but this evening it was mediocre, from the steak to the ribs, however the price remained steady and unchanged. The service is good as per usual, really top waiters and they try their best. Ambience always good, however on the night the kitchen closed earlier than usual for whatever reason, and we felt rushed. Location is good bar the drag strip and spinning performance vehicles, which is supposed to be a normal road. The bathroom is the biggest upset of all, not sure how they cater for disabled as you need to walk down two flights of stairs and also the men bathrooms are never clean with dodgy toilet setup, certainly not what one would expect for a steak eatery of this magnitude. Managed always good and try their best.

    Everything was perfect . Unfortunately there was a very noisy guest on a phone call. He was so loud that we couldn’t hear ourselves .
