Farro is an intimate Modern European restaurant serving a 5 Course Chef's Menu. Owned and run by husband and wife team Alex & Eloise Windebank, the couple have restored a historic Victorian terraced house in Cape Town's Gardens neighbourhood to home their restaurant. Featuring a cocktail bar, an open kitchen & upstairs dining rooms, Farro invites guests to enjoy a refined dining experience in a timeless setting.

    A delightfully indulgent find. Intimate and elegant with heartfelt, unfeigned service. The 5 courses were delicious and it felt amazing to support a restaurant bold enough to create a limited menu to embrace seasonal, ethically sourced produce (avoiding food waste) with no compromise on creativity, quality or delight. An absolute highlight was that all the wines were available by the glass, allowing our table of wine lovers to create their own wine pairing experience with each course. Needless to say, too much wine was consumed. Alex and Eloise, you have created something truly special. Thanks for a fabulous evening.

    A restaurant experience like none other. Alex's food makes you salivate for the simple pleasures in life- balance, refinement, flawless execution. Eloise's touch of hospitality is the golden thread through the entire experience, personalised menu's, warm comfortable service- you need for nothing. An old house brimming with charm and modern touches, I can't think of a better setting to have a memorable dinner.

    There are many restaurants that serve good focaccia, good pickles, good velouté, good pasta, good fish, good brisket, and good chocolate cream. However, it is not easy to serve everything perfectly, time and time again. There are many restaurants with tasteful decor with very informative and personal service but few can move you to tears by adding an unexpected extra touch. I love their minimalist yet elegant presentation. Everything is authentically Farro. Having experienced a couple of top restaurants in various cities, I can say there is no other place that is so professional yet personal, and warm yet cool at the same time. In my opinion, I dare say Farro is the best restaurant in South Africa, if not the best in all of Africa.

    This was only our 2nd time at Farro and what a special dinner this was! Impeccable service, even better food and the most special, personal touches to celebrate our anniversary. Truly a gem and I cannot recommend Farro enough!

    Impeccable service and care. The team printed a special birthday menu design. Delicate flavours, wonderful presentation and just the right amount of courses- it was a lovely evening and definitely worth a trip.

    From the moment you are welcomed at the front door, have a cocktail at their front room bar, and then get ushered upstairs to your table, everything is flawless, from the decor and ambience, to the service, to the food, the their curated drinks list, and even the small touches like a welcome note to our dinner club by name on our menus. This place is very special and we'll definitely be back. Well done and Thank you to Eloise, Canaan and the rest of the team that made our evening very enjoyable.
