LOCALS LOVE LILY’S
Lily’s is Cape Town's favourite neighbourhood eatery on the Mouille Point Promenade. Comfortably refined with quirky and esoteric style, Lily’s is as friendly as it is fashionable. A varied and adventurous menu reflects a joyful approach to life. Looking onto the Atlantic Ocean – with indoor and outdoor seating that opens onto the promenade – make it as ideal a location for people-watching as it is for enjoying the sunset. Loved by locals, Lily’s is the perfect meet-up spot after a walk or cycle on the promenade, for an indulgent breakfast, a healthy lunch meeting, afternoon sundowners or an intimate, seaside dinner.

Good morning, We had an okay time, but it could certainly have been a much more pleasant experience. I believe more consideration should have been given to the seating arrangements. There were three elderly women in our group—two of whom are quite frail, one of whom uses a walker. Unfortunately, they were seated in a noisy corner where they struggled to hear one another. The space was also awkward and difficult to access, especially for someone with limited mobility. It was so uncomfortable that they didn’t even attempt to use the restroom. When I arrived with the woman using the walker, I politely asked a staff member if the chairs could be moved to allow her to pass through. He simply walked off in another direction without assisting. He did later apologise after I raised the issue with the manager—but even then, I couldn’t understand how my request had been so easily ignored or misunderstood. On a positive note, the food was quite delicious overall. However, the macaroni and cheese with truffle was disappointing—it was rather dry and lacked any noticeable truffle flavour.

The place uses plastic curtains to shield the outside terrace from the wind and the road nearby. While useful, the plastic is not clear and it completely blocks the gorgeous view of the sea. Therefore you go to the seafront restaurant but don’t really get to see the sea. Otherwise the place is great, the food is very nice and service is on par.

Great friendly and efficient service, fabulously tasty burger (needed a little greenery on the very sparse plate), and a good location that does need the outside to be open (a very wet day) to really create the true ambience which has great potential. Sadly the wine list of the whole group of restaurants is extremely limited, never ever changes, and is at least 50% overpriced.

We had lunch for 2, plus a dog. Lily's is dog-friendly, which is a plus. We had a shared starter, mains, and desserts. Just sparkling water to drink. The food was excellent, as usual, except that the "coleslaw" was just shredded cabbage, with no dressing. The waitress also forgot a cup of tea. Great location opposite the promenade. Not a place for those on a tight budget, as it all came to R1200, including the tip!
