Muratie is as old as history itself, lying at the foot of the Simonsberg with a view of Table Mountain, guarded over by ancient oak trees you will find this old 'ruin' a treasure to be enjoyed. The old fermentation tanks in the cellar with their tartaric encrusted walls, old carpets, wooden furniture and original art is where you will enjoy honest home food, good wine and great company.

NB: Muratie Wine Estate restaurant is only open from Wednesday to Sunday however our wine tasting is open Monday to Tuesday.

Muratie is always a favourite as it's so pretty and peaceful, and you have not gone all touristy, loud & awful. Such beautiful cool trees. Brilliant waitress, and that homemade bread, deeeeelicius! But I do think you should have a few more lighter main options on your menu, especially in the summer heat. Please don't eat 'Lunch', the big white chicken. He is like a friendly doggie.

This was my second visit in ten days and I had so enjoyed it so much I recommended it to guests and we were all so enthusiastic about our visit yesterday. A huge factor was the service by Leonay. She was utterly charming, fully informed about food and wine, paid perfect attention despite the chaos of our party. I think she may be new to Muratie and she’s a real asset so big thank you to her and we look forward to our next visit.

Thanks Muratie. We noticed a significant positive change in the experience,.... wine and restaurant staff were happy, the wine students and restaurant staff were very knowledgeable about Muratie wine, history and told lovely stories... The Summer food menu was a hit. 2 of us enjoyed the Cauliflower mains ( will order again)... The restaurant manager treated us well etc. Our overseas guests also enjoyed the mountain bike trails so overall was a great day out at Muratie

Disappointed that we were not told there was a memorial service being held in the outdoor seating area prior to arriving with only indoor seating available, which is dark and dreary on such a beautiful day. Beware of the mussels.

Muratie is a family run farm I have been visiting for decades. I always enjoy my visit there, as do my family and friends. It remains one of those special places in the Cape Winelands.
