Taking the classic grill and bar to new heights, NV-80 was born in celebration of 32 successful years in the restaurant industry. Named after the dynamic and legendary Gonçalves brothers, Naldo and Victor, NV-80 is a throwback to the 80’s when the duo began business together. Offering guests intimate indoor dining, an alfresco balcony for sundowners and a chic centre bar, this oasis of a restaurant feels far removed from its shopping centre location. NV-80 shares a Cuba meets vintage hotel dining room ambience with bright lemon and teal hues set amongst tall palm trees. Fluorescent finishes coat classic cast aluminum, Windsor dining chairs wear metal feet and copper accents compliment mighty matchstick blinds. NV-80’s menu is an amalgamation of the Gonçalves’ favourites dishes offering tender Chalmar steaks as well as fresh seafood.

    The starters and desserts have been excellent on every visit. However, for both of my visits to NV-80, the steaks were not cooked to the desired doneness. I received a borderline blue steak on both occasions, having asked for medium rare. My wife had a similar experience, having asked for medium and receiving medium rare/rare. This seems to be due to the use of very thick sirloin steaks cooked hot and fast, which results in a steak that does not reach the correct internal temperature. The sauces and the flavour of the steaks was still very good.
