This legendary exclusive revolving restaurant was officially opened in February 1973. The Roma was born from a concept pioneered by Bartholoeo Ribero, Turi and Gino Leopardi. Now proudly owned by the Reelin Group and managed by the Leopardi brothers. We are proud to say that we are the only genuine revolving restaurant in the southern hemisphere and the 3rd of its kind in the world. Roma Revolving Restaurant also boasts the unique feature, as two others do, of a revolving window and floor area! The restaurant is situated on the 32nd Level of the John Ross House overlooking the whole of Durban and surrounding areas with excellent sea and bay views.

    A beautiful day. The views of the Indian Ocean and working harbour were amazing . The food was dated but fabulous. I had avocado ritz with a Durban avo the size of a rugby ball. The service was “old Durban” and the showmanship making of the crepe souzettes was entertaining. A great Easter Sunday and Birthday celebration.

    Food & ambience excellent. Personal attention from Gino lovely. Staff seemed a bit disorganised. One or two dedicated waitrons might gave been more efficient. But overall a very happy and pleasant experience once again. We love Roma's.
