The Wild Fig Restaurant is a fully licensed Restaurant and Bar situated on a portion of the historic Valkenburg Estate. Our bar is situated in the original barn which is a National Monument. We have beautiful outdoor seating areas as well as private dining areas. We cater for all manner of events such as functions, conference, weddings, cocktail functions, breakfasts and celebrations.

    Salad was great.desserts were good. The lamb shanks was disappointing. Not much meat on it made it very pricey for what we got.

    Wild Fig has a charming and relaxing ambiance. We specifically wanted to try the sunday roast and check out the place for an upcoming event. However the service was slow and our waiter inattentive. We waited long for drinks and meals to arrive and no apology or explanation was offered by the waiter. Unlike other restaurants, no one checked up on our table and it was hassle to signal for our waiter's attention. We were a group of six and two meals was undercooked. The chicken breast was raw and little to no regret expressed by the waiter when we brought this to his attention and he returned the chicken for further cooking however this caused it to dry out further. Although the rest of the meal was nice, the raw chicken and lack of service unfortunately made it an unpleasant dining experience.
