Fine dining in Plett what a treat. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly and enthusiastic staff.Dietary constraints are personally taken care of by the chef.

The restaurant is beautiful and the ambience is great. Unfortunately our meals were overcooked and dry, which is a real shame. The service was very pleasant but when we asked about their participation in the Chilli Festival we were informed that they had finished with it the day before. As we were finishing our main course we overheard the waiter serving the table behind us explaining what was on offer on the menu with regards to 1777’s participation in the Chilli Festival, and the people at the table making their choices based on that information. Needless to say we were very disappointed to have been misinformed.

What a fantastic experience. The Chilli special dish was really good and would be worth adding to the menu.

During the Chilli Festival in Plettenberg Bay, my friends and I had the pleasure of dining at 1777 Restaurant at The Old Rectory Hotel, and it was an experience worth sharing. This gem of a restaurant not only offered a stunning ambiance but also delighted our taste buds with its exquisite cuisine. The Kingklip was not just a meal but a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with delightful flavours. Even for someone like me, who doesn’t typically eat fish, the chef, Ashley, went above and beyond to craft an alternative option that was equally remarkable. Ashley herself came over to introduce herself, a personal touch that truly elevated the experience. Our dining experience was made even more enjoyable thanks to the impeccable service provided by Sibo, our server for the evening. Sibo’s attentiveness and warm hospitality truly enhanced our evening, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the meal. After our dinner, we enjoyed some night caps at the bar, which offered a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.
