Although its true origins are disputed and many lay claim to the idea, 1904 is recorded as the year the humble hamburger gained national recognition in America at the St. Louis Worlds Fair. Our menu is an ode to the trail blazing vendors whose steak patty sandwich revolutionised the food industry.

    I already posted on Facebook. We had an awesome experience. My children live in JHB Sandton and they were very impressed with the ambience, service with a smile and the delicious food. Compliments to the chef.I have never tasted such delicious roasted vegetables ever! I will be back soon with friends.

    Very disappointed, it was a special occasion. I went back because my previous and first visit to the restaurant had been so memorable. On that occasion, the bleu fillet was cooked to perfection. That was the reason for my return. I had booked a specific table for 13:00 hrs. On arrival I found the table I had reserved occupied. With ourselves there were a total of 4 tables occupied, absolutely no reason to have not put a reserve sign on the table. Management neglect. I ordered a bleu fillet again, what arrived was medium. There was no resistance to replacing it, but the interruption to my meal somewhat spoiled the occasion. The replacement steak was cooked correctly but the piece of meat was disappointing. The waitron was very professional and efficient. Would I go back, I don’t know.

    The food was absolutely horrible, we ordered food that consisted of ribs, wings, and pasta and pulled brisket. Brisket was off Wings and ribs were so dry and overcooked Our waiter Freddy, seemed like he didn't know much about the menu, their mocktails were extremely sweet, i don't know if they are using the wrong measurements for the type of glasses they are using.The blender is so loud you can barely hear each other speaking, i tokd the manager about the food and he simply said 'we will talk to the kitchen about it' and walked away. Oh, and the automatic 10% tip added on bills of R1000 or more 🤧. I regret not going back to Hussar grill. A wasted R3000 bill and a ruined birthday lunch.

    The food was on point and enjoyable. There was 1 or 2 meals that was prepared to one of the guests taste, but that was happily rectified and made to liking. All the other 22 meals was prepared and provided well. But the biggest satisfaction was the service. From the management to the staff, it was one of the greatest service we received. They were accommodating, attentive, friendly and everything you would want when you attend a restaurant. The manager, Dingani (hopefully have the spelling correct), was a great assistance, he made sure we received the best service. From the onset of making the booking, to end of it all. I undoubtedly recommend tue restaurant, weather it us just a having a meals with a few people or even a large gathering.

    I had such a beautiful experience at 1904 Restaurant yesterday! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, classy, and welcoming. The décor is stunning and gives such a luxurious but relaxed vibe. The service was absolutely amazing — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. The food was delicious and well-presented, and the cocktails were definitely a highlight! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Overall, it was such a lovely experience and I left feeling happy and satisfied. I would definitely recommend 1904 to anyone looking for great food, beautiful drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back again! 💛✨
