Although its true origins are disputed and many lay claim to the idea, 1904 is recorded as the year the humble hamburger gained national recognition in America at the St. Louis Worlds Fair. Our menu is an ode to the trail blazing vendors whose steak patty sandwich revolutionised the food industry.

    The food was delicious especially the chicken livers and we did not wait long for the food. The service was excellent

    The entire evening was amazing but the kitchen or chef seems to battle abit. Sent back three different main dishes as they were wrong and the kitchen forgot about another meal entirely. So one of our guests had to wait for them to prepare another while we all dined. Abit disappointing from that perspective. Staff are excellent and no fault to them at all. Have been coming to the restaurant for a couple years now but this is a first time experience with this issue.

    The weather was so bad but thank you for all the heaters that assisted and made our stay memorable. Thank you to your team for going out of their way to ensure that our stay and dining experience was unforgettable. Will definitely choose to dine at 1904 any day. All meals were well prepared and warm 👌

    Good day. I had a wonderful time. At first we had a bit of challenge because we had gone for the lunch special only to be told it's not served on public holidays but the Ts and Cs were not written anywhere for us to know before hand. Fortunately the manager allowed us to have the much special and we were very grateful for that. The food was delicious. Our only disappointment was the Bao Buns that me and my friend ordered. We were underwhelmed to say the least. It was dry and the meat was just too little. My one bun had three pork belly tiny pieces if not pork rashers. I told the waiter when she asked and the manager came and apologized. I didn't see any cucumber on the bun as written on the menu. Just a little cabbage, some meat and a drizzle of mayo. We really felt we were short changed on this meal l am still disappointed when l think about it. Everything else was perfect. The pork belly lollipops were devine. The chicken livers cooked to perfection. The creamy chicken Tuscan we could not fault. The chocolate brownies were nice and not too sweet. The cream brulee was ok nothing special Overall l had a great experience. The waiter and manager were good hosts. Everything else was perfect.

    What a lovely, relaxed and enjoyable afternoon at 1904 Bistro Americain. Keep up the excellent work. Everything was impressive and well received from the one taking the calls for reservations, the welcome at the door, the waiter/waitestress, chef and all the staff. 1904 Bistro Americain was an excellent choice to celebrate 30 years of grace for our dad and all the phenomenal women. Thank you.
