9th Avenue Waterside is a fine-dining restaurant located in the Durban yacht mole, off the city's picturesque Esplanade. Every feature of the establishment defines its character - from its location in the harbor, to the innovative design and menu and ultimately, to the exceptional dining experience. The intimate setting is complimented by the warmth of the inspired front-of-house team and the kitchen brigade, led by Head Chef, Theodorus Chiloane. Our mission is to inspire people to enjoy and appreciate food and dining, in a new way - from the communities we support producing sustainably farmed food and beverages, to the professionalism and knowledge of our staff, service and hospitality. The upstairs Cocktail Lounge provide the ideal space to de-stress after a busy day, meet with friends or business colleagues or host a private function. 9th Avenue Waterside also offers a variety of spaces for weddings, engagements, business events, product launches and special calendar days.     Here is a clearer and more professional version of your message while keeping your concern strong and respectful: Good day, I would like to express my disappointment regarding the treatment we received yesterday. It was quite disappointing to see a VIP booking handled in such a manner. The room provided was extremely small, and my photographer was not allowed inside. There was also no prior communication informing us about these restrictions so that we could prepare or adhere to the rules before the booking. In addition, we noticed that other guests were allowed to enter with gifts and flowers, yet we were denied this while having specifically booked the VIP room. This experience was very disappointing, especially as my expectation was that the restaurant would offer a classy fine dining experience. Unfortunately, this was not what we experienced. The purpose of booking a VIP room is to enjoy privacy and an exclusive environment. However, the music from outside was extremely loud, to the point that we could barely hear ourselves speak, let alone deliver speeches. Overall, this experience did not meet the expectations of a VIP booking, and I hope the restaurant will take this feedback seriously to improve its service and communication in the future.     “I had a really lovely experience at 9th Avenue Marina. The ambience was the highlight of the evening — the atmosphere is beautiful, relaxing, and perfect for enjoying a meal by the marina. The food was delicious and well presented, and you can tell care goes into the preparation. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The prices felt fair for the quality of food and the overall dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great meal in a stunning setting.”

    Starters were good but the mains not so. The seafood pasta was so salty that I had to stop and get takeout for my daughter because she could not eat it anymore... this was 4 days ago and the food is still in the fridge. The steak was good though as per my brother whom ordered it. The shanks wasn't up to standard especially for those prices. The ambience was beautiful and the server tried his best to tend to us and his other tables but we were left waiting for him to be free and come to us. I spent over R7500 rands there and I will not suggest them to anyone. One good thing was, The drinks and desserts was really good. More work needs to be undertaken to better themselves. Im.sorry for this review, maybe work on it so the next patron/s have a better experience. Especially as it was my wifes birthday. Stay safe and all the best. Mr S Naidoo.

    Only reason Service was rated slightly lower, was due to the few delays, as we were a large group of 51. Our personal waiter was excellent. Everything else deserves a 5 out of 5. The food, as noted by all was delicious and Top class, portion sizes are big and good value for money. Staff were very helpful and friendly Was my second time there and I will certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
