    From the moment we arrived at Adriatico Cucina Mediterranea on Capelands Wine Farm & Guesthouse, we were captivated by the breathtaking vineyard views and the genuine warmth of the staff. Chef Paul Dukai’s creations are extraordinary, the sea bass, in particular, is a revelation, offering a flavor experience unlike anything we’ve tasted elsewhere. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted and perfectly paired with Capelands’ exceptional wines, making each bite a celebration of local produce and culinary artistry. The team’s friendliness and professionalism make the visit effortless and memorable. Beyond a meal, Adriatico Cucina Mediterranea is an exceptional journey of taste, sight, and hospitality a true highlight of the Cape Winelands.

    We loved the ambience and the service (Lorraine) but unfortunately we can’t recommend the food. It actually TASTED like frozen seafood that was dished up, I couldn’t taste the pecorino in my dish and my husband ordered the salmon, he said it tastes “different” and when we got home, he had diarree. All in all, lovely to sit outside, drinking good wine, looking over the ocean, but sadly, the food was substandard.

At Adriatico we take great care in sourcing our seafood and preparing our dishes fresh in-house, so we are naturally disappointed whenever a guest feels we have fallen short. We were also concerned to read that your husband felt unwell later that evening. As we did not receive any similar feedback from other guests that evening, we believe this may have been an isolated experience; however, we nevertheless reviewed our procedures as a precaution and confirmed that everything was handled in accordance with our usual food safety standards.
