The name "Agteros" reflects the owner's personal journey of perseverance and eventual success, inspired by the Afrikaans proverb "Agteros kom ook in die kraal" (The last ox also gets to the kraal).

Inside: Seats 40-50 guests with an inviting and intimate atmosphere. Outside: A charming terrace garden space.

    The nose to tail Feast for the Brave was probably one of the best meals I've ever had. The liver parfait starter was melt in your mouth sublime, with a rooibos jelly, next was oxtail on bone marrow, I mean you'd think it doesn't get better than that, but still it did, beef tongue on the creamiest celeriac puree, with parsnip chips, traditional curried tripe was melt in your mouth, still another course of braised beef cheek on sweet potato so so tasty. Not sure how we squeezed in desert, all paired with local wines from the valley. Chef Janine knocked it out the park once again.

    We had a lovely lunch at Agteros. We shared the smoorsnoek samoosas which were delicious. Line fish for the say was Kabeljou and it was perfectly prepared, paired with a delicious corn sauce. Would definitely go back.

    Very. relaxed and personal athmosphere. Jeanine does a perfekt job in the kitchen. Very fine taste in all the menu ! Thank you for the nice diner.
