We enjoyed the bubbly and the ambience (and that we could bring our dog and sit out in the courtyard) but we were really disappointed in the food. Allee Bleue's website states there is a wood fired pizza oven that has just been installed, so we were looking forward to that. We eat plant-based/vegan, and could not find an up to date menu on their website, but at least we knew pizza (without cheese) would have been an option. When we arrived we were told that there was no pizza oven and that the only vegan item on the menu was a salad from which they'd remove the cheese. We suggested they do the shakshuka without egg and some avo on the side, and what arrived was really drab and disappointing, and we were charged the full shakshuka price for a bit of tomato sauce and dry bread. I don't think the chef tried particularly hard to accommodate us. The waitress and other staff were lovely, and our friends enjoyed the eisbein special (we could see real effort was made there), and we were grateful for the champagne to drown our sorrows, but it was really disappointing food experience.

Allee Bleue Bistro responded on Tue 09 Jun 26:
Good morning Phillipa I am sorry to hear about your experience with us. We are currently updating the website and have reached out to our service provider regarding some of the information that hasn't been changed. Our wood fired oven is in our picnic area and used predominantly during warmer months. We would love to invite you back for the Real Allée Bleue experience. In terms of the menu, we have discussed having well thought out vegan options in the future. When we tweak existing dishes, they might not delight clients as much as the originals. Our chef is incredibly passionate and has already taken it upon himself to explore vegan options for our spring menu. Would you mind if I contact you privately to invite you for a lunch on us as well as possibly asking for some dishes that you like to eat?

Not a great experience. Unfortunately we wont be back and cannot recommend this place. Even though I booked a table for lunch and confirmed, no table was prepared for us. Most unprofessional. The burgers patties were not the freshest. It had a slight taste. One or two were undercooked. The best thing on the plate was the chips. The pork belly was quite unappetising. It was pale and the fat was not rendered. Clearly the focus is on wine tasting and not the bistro. Most disappointing birthday experience

We hosted a Bridal shower at the Bistro on 13th December, and our guests loved the venue. The staff was very friendly, kind and very willing to assist whenever help was required.
