Two steak orders were rare instead of medium-well. Despite known nut allergy we received Creme Brulee with almond liquer topping (nut contents not declared). This led to great anxiety about a potential allergic reaction and needing immediate treatment with medicine. Staff was supportive during the issue, but promised to follow up with me the following day and never reached out. We did not receive the promised voucher in lieu of the issues with steak and spoiling our evening due to a medical issue.

Klein Alto should be a "must do" on everyone's list! The view, the venue, the service, the food, and of course the wine - exceptional! A wonderful experience, soon to be repeated!

We hosted our year-end function on 29 November at Klein Alto, and I would like to congratulate Inge and her team for going above and beyond in meeting all our needs. We were honoured to spoil our personnel at such a world-class venue. The atrium was the perfect fit for our black-tie event. The food was out of this world, and Chef Matthew truly outdid himself. What struck me most, however, was the Klein Alto team who supported us on the day of our function. They had hosted the Sunset Rouge event the previous evening until late, yet the next morning they greeted me with genuine smiles, helped wherever needed, and carried that same energy through to midnight. One of the waitresses received sad news on Saturday morning yet still came in for a double shift because her team was counting on her. She didn’t want to let them down. This is a true testament to the incredible teamwork, passion, and respect they have for one another. Inge and team — thank you, thank you, thank you! You have something truly extraordinary and special at Klein Alto, and it’s the reason your guests will keep coming back time and again. See you again soon – that cheesecake with blueberry ice cream and berry compote is worth the return visit on its own!

Sadly our expectations were not nearly met: the untrained waitress forgot one of three dishes, did not know how to pour MCC properly and was helpless when we complained about the Cesar Salad, being a Garden Salad and the chicken being crumped although we had asked about gluten-free ingredients. The Steak never arrived and the manageress also disappeared. Another case of trying to be a restaurant in the winelands without competent staff, proper food and customer service. We should have gone to Rust en Vrede down the road in the first place.
