The restaurant is decorated in an eclectic mix of old and new and has a warm inviting atmosphere. The sun drenched terrace with its vine draped pagodas, has spectacular views of the paddocks, vines and Table Mountain and is popular in summer. In winter a cozy fire and underfloor heating welcomes our guests.

The a la carte menu offers a mouthwatering selection. Indulge your senses with a hearty breakfast selection enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere. Champagne breakfasts are ever popular. The lunch menu, bursting with flavor, boasts specialties such as the duck with a piquant Van der Hum sauce, matured Fillet of Beef and Norwegian Salmon with a Dill and Cucumber diamond cream. We also cater for Vegan and Vegetarian diners.

Lighter options put emphasis on organic and local produce, where salads and quiches appeal to the health-conscious. Delectable desserts including a gluten-free bake of the day, will linger in the mind long after the meal especially if savoured with the farm’s 10-year pot stilled brandy or the Above Royalty Liqueur Wine.

    When we arrived the host asked for our booking name, we didn’t have a dedicated table (no need because there was only one other table occupied) but I did put a special note that we were celebrating my fiancés birthday. Table wasn’t set, we had sat down and got menus then they put on a table cloth. Brought us cold bread, no knife, no salt and pepper, no balsamic vinegar nor olive oil. Waiter took down the completely wrong order. Steak was ordered medium well, received completely rare. Ordered a Greek bowl as a main, received a Greek salad- completly different things. I was told the bowl will take a while and am I sure I don’t want the salad. No? Of course not because that’s not what I ordered. Anyways, ended up actually cancelling that order because we didn’t want to stay any longer. We also ordered the vegetarian pea pasta dish. It was disgusting and bland, tasted like frozen peas microwaved and mashed with plain spaghetti. No vegetable broth as stated, was also cold. Staff were unprofessional. Entire experience was absolutely awful. Would not return, especially not for a special event such as a birthday which was indicated on our booking. We paid the bill and tipped- even though it wasn’t deserved at all, and were out of there before an hour.
