    From the time I booked I was well served to when I got there. The food was amazing that pork belly & ribeye fresh and so tasty. The cocktails 🍹 too amazing.

    Bare absolutely nailed it. The pork belly was a standout—perfectly crisp on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavour. Every bite felt intentional, indulgent without being heavy. The mussels were just as impressive: plump, fresh, and swimming in a sauce so good you’ll want to mop up every last drop. Comforting, elegant, and cooked with confidence. And then there are the cocktails. Creative, beautifully presented, and dangerously easy to drink. Each one was well-balanced, bold without being overpowering, and clearly crafted by someone who knows their way around flavour. Bare delivers on every level—exceptional food, memorable drinks, and an experience that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. 🍸✨

    I don’t usually like to leave bad reviews but I do feel that the food here was particularly bad and with all the competition in Cape Town I can’t let this go. The charcuterie board was nice but the rest of the food was really not good. The mussels were the worst mussel dish I’ve had. It was so acidic and I could only stomach one of them. My partner did better but only to be polite. There was no seasoning in the zucchini fries which were bland and tasted like nothing. The pork belly was just salty and had no balance of flavors. The crackling was dry and extremely hard. There was no seasoning on the coleslaw. The fries were soggy and the aioli tasted like watered down mayo with a lot of lemon juice. The staff were however very nice and the service was great. It could have been a bad night but I unfortunately would never go back or recommend it.
