Benguela Cove is the ultimate tourist destination and wine estate. This maritime paradise in Hermanus offers boat trips, vineyard tours, great food and wine pairing, winery tours, wine tasting and so much more.

Visitors to the estate can experience a host of tastings from our award-winning wines. We offer have vineyard tour and tasting, as well as being the only place in South Africa to offer a wine tasting on the lagoon. Experience a pontoon boat ride with a wine tasting while you cross our picturesque Botriver Lagoon to the white sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

    We expected more - it was really hot, no air-conditioning. The service struggled to keep up with the patrons and no explanation on the wine or tasting given. Took really long and just popped the cheese, meat and wine in front of us and ran off again. Family of ours did the tasting for the first time and it was a disappointment to say the most. The wine is good, enjoyed that!

    Made reservation for 10 pax, paid deposit and confirmed reservation 2 days before, just to get to venue and table was not reserved and we had to wait for other guests to leave before we were seated !

    It was a horrendous experience at the tasting room. I made a booking, only to be greeted by the most unfriendly staff who could not find our booking or give us a space to sit. We ordered cold drinks, bubbly and oysters. The drinks order was wrong. The oysters (with very little meat) arrived still stuck to their shells; no forks or serviettes were provided. I addressed the issues with the manager more than once during the experience and received no comment or apology.

    An epic experience and a must for any wine lover! This was my 2nd time around and where I could not fault them in the past, this time, I felt the explanations of the wines were limited and it was difficult to get our wine restocked. There were some smaller "attention to detail" items missing like not labeling the bottles, not providing pen and paper for notes and not providing glasses for blending; all of which would've elevated the full experience a bit more. Overall though, we had loads of fun and I would still recommend this highly.
