The setting and ambience are absolutely beautiful, and there is clearly a lot of potential here. The food was ok. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It was very slow throughout our visit, and we often felt overlooked by the staff.

Decent burgers, lovely wine (The Journey and the Cab Franc in particular). Service was friendly and pleasant. Food a bit slow, but tasty and hot. Burgers maybe could have done with a bit more sauce.

Myself and my husband had the steak. The steak was nothing to write home about. It wasn't cooked to the correct temp either. We didn't get enough chimmichuri. And the chimmichuri wasn't made correctly either. Not enough chips either. The marrow burger was delicious The chicken burger was great. The pork crackling is not crackling. It's just small pieces of pork. No crackling. The waiter was quite junior. His table service etiquette wasn't up to scratch. He didn't pour our wine for us. Stretched over us when clearing or delivering plates to the table. Didn't pour our water. He also removed glasses from the table that were still being used. He just needs some training. The ambience was lovely. No music though. No one kept the fire going. So the guests kept having to get up and add logs to the fire. We drove all the way from Noordhoek and we won't be coming back. It's not worth it.

Took friends for lunch on Sunday and what a shambles. Had to buy and pay for wine at the Tasting room. No ice in restaurant or Tasting room. Only alcohol free beer available. After a long wait for just toasted sandwiches the 2 Club sandwiches were cold, the 2 chicken mayo sandwiches were pleasant. Had to ask twice for the chips that arrived halfway through the meal as did the tomato sauce. It was a very disappointing casual lunch. The 2 staff on duty were friendly but not efficient. Such a fabulous setting was spoiled by a below average lunch.
