This restaurant needs to best in more sun umbrellas. Also, if the waiter messes up the order why do I have to accept it and not be able to get what I wanted ?

Overall, it was a great experience - but mostly as a result of our waitress, Chantelle. We initially sat for 20 minutes completely unattended as the place was full - which made it loud and challenging to have a good conversation. When we called someone over, Chantelle admitted that she was not our waitress but managed to salvage the evening for us. Our order was correct and she was generally efficient. Not a cheap experience, at all, and the rump trinchado was not as tasty as it could have been, although my son loved his Calisto Steak and my husband and friend both enjoyed their sardines.

The food was lovely and tasty. Presentation was poor. We ordered the Date night ribs, wings and prawns. We told waitress 1 platter must have prawns separated and the other platter everything put together. Both platter came separated and Presentation was very poor. Prawns put in a small side plate hanging out. We waited 30 minutes for wine glasses and we were given gin glasses that were dirty and smelling of cocktails. We asked waitress to clean them and she deed and were brought wet and not dried. Food was served without cutlery. We asked for side plates and we were not given. I understand there was a show but as a restuarant why not buy or hire extra wine glasses for busy days. The show has been advertised for months and management and staff knew it will be busy so why not prepare. Buy extra plates for show days?? Why have a restuarant at Monte without enough glasses, cutlery and plates? Why is staff not giving management feedback? Why is the restaurant manager ignoring the crisis? Why were cokes being served in wine glasses ? And wine being served in cocktails glasses? It was my first time at Calisto's. I didn't enjoy the experience at all. Portugalo restaurant was very good . My self and my husband loved it there. We were excited to see Calisto's open but we were so disappointed with the whole experience, service and manager promised us glasses from the store room and she never got back to us to give us feedback that there were no glasses. No one apologised to us or to at least make it up for us and give us a dessert or even vanilla ice-cream on the house for the inconveniences caused. Would I go back to Calisto's YES coz the chef cooks yummy food but the service and shortage of glasses, plates and cutlery that can be solved by either hiring extra or buying more items for busy days and keep them in store room. Feel free to call me for extra feedback.

Lebo was an absolute Super Star, he gave excellent service, was quick on his feet and helped after we spilt some chillie sauce on the floor. He even allowed our nephew to watch how he used placed an order, where he collected it from, he was super patient and kind. The cherry on. The cake was when it was whispered I have an upcoming Birthday and the full Team came to sing and made my special day, extra special and memorable. The food was delicious, the overall service great, and will definitely be back and recommend to family and friends. Thank you Lebo and Team!
