    Im afraid this was a very poor experience, the food was just about adequate, certainly far better steak houses in Cape Town. We were the only table in the restaurant on a Saturday evening when we left at around 8pm - the ambience was non existent. Sad when you consider Carne used to be one of Cape Towns best venues. Try somewhere else.

    We ordered a T bone and it came out as a blob of sliced meat, no presentation whatsoever and couldn't tell what was the fillet or the sirloin. We asked to see the manager and he is also the chef so he didn't come out to speak to us. No vibe and brightly lit - would never go back.

    The beef is great, but why do we always have to wait at least 45 minutes, for a steak to be cooked for 7 minutes??

    We enjoyed our meal at Carne, the food was good, however it would have been nice to have had the option of tomato sauce for our chips. The service could have been better, it’s somewhat irritating to see staff on their cell phones whilst waiting for your drinks. I would also suggest they clean the litter from their pot plants on the patio.
