Built in 1929 to reflect the spirit of 18th century Venice, Casa Labia is the former Muizenberg residence of Count and Countess Natale Labia. Following a complete two-year restoration by the family, this much-loved national monument was opened to the public on 5 May 2010 as South Africa’s most exquisite multi-functional cultural centre. In September 2020 Management of Casa Labia Cultural Centre was taken over by Cape Town based company Ideas Cartel. The building comprises of a members club, coworking facilities and a public hosting restaurant. In November two suites will be available to book for overnight accommodation. The focus continues to be on providing an exceptional experience in an unforgettable and unique venue. The Venue at Casa Labia can be booked for weddings, private events, dinners, conferences, cocktail parties and film or stills shoots. The Restaurant at Casa Labia offers simple Italian style food, excellent wines, the best coffee in Muizenberg and home made cakes and pastries. Picnics can be prebooked and enjoyed on the lawn which has the most incredible views of the False Bay coastline. Dinner and Music evenings are hosted from 18h00 on Friday evenings - it is sure to be the go-to summer sundowner spot on the False Bay Coastline.

I was really excited to eat here and was sorely disappointed with the quality of the lunch. We had a few pastas and the fish-all the pastas were cold and extremely basic and bland with no condiments to enhance the flavor. The dessert was really good. The ambience and setting was absolutely amazing and made up for the food. Loved the live piano!

Out of 8 meals, half were good and half were OK. Antipasto was good. Bread dish over priced and stale with only 2 pieces of ciabatta and too much slightly dry sliced bread. Fillet was dry - potatoes in a soggy arrangement under the meat. Pasta was good. Fish dish was very good. Beef burger was good. Veg burger was good, but dry - could've had a sauce (used the lovely pesto & olive paste from the antipasto on it). Hamburger buns were a bit dry and broke up. Service was excellent and waitress was superb. Overall a good time was had by all. Thank you

hi- we LOVED our experience. We sat outside on the lawn with two dog children and revelled in the beauty of nature - sea and mountain! We had a lovely waiter and we would have stayed all day were it not for a promotion starting in the afternoon. We will definitely come again and often. Thank you. Claire

Casa Labia by Ideas Cartel responded on Tue 16 Feb 21:
