Built in 1929 to reflect the spirit of 18th century Venice, Casa Labia is the former Muizenberg residence of Count and Countess Natale Labia. Following a complete two-year restoration by the family, this much-loved national monument was opened to the public on 5 May 2010 as South Africa’s most exquisite multi-functional cultural centre.

In September 2020 Management of Casa Labia Cultural Centre was taken over by Cape Town based company Ideas Cartel. The building comprises of a members club, coworking facilities and a public hosting restaurant. In November two suites will be available to book for overnight accommodation. The focus continues to be on providing an exceptional experience in an unforgettable and unique venue.

The Venue at Casa Labia can be booked for weddings, private events, dinners, conferences, cocktail parties and film or stills shoots.

The Restaurant at Casa Labia offers simple Italian style food, excellent wines, the best coffee in Muizenberg and home made cakes and pastries. Picnics can be prebooked and enjoyed on the lawn which has the most incredible views of the False Bay coastline. Dinner and Music evenings are hosted from 18h00 on Friday evenings - it is sure to be the go-to summer sundowner spot on the False Bay Coastline.

We really enjoyed our meal, the service was good and the prices were fair. However, I feel that the little room we were put in lacked attention. It could have had some flowers or some decoration and was very much on its own so we could not appreciate the full character of the beautiful building. Some music or something would have made our meal less quiet. That said the view of the sea was really lovely.
