A LONG TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE.

During the American Civil War, a new breed of entrepreneur was born, the Cattle Barons. These immensely rich and powerful men, along with their cowboys moved millions of unattended Texan cattle vast distances across the Kansas plains to railheads for transport to market centres. This helped to generate income which stabilized the war-torn Texan economy. In the process, jerry-built cattle towns such as Abilene, Wichita & Dodge became infamous and the Cattle Barons became legends.

The Cattle Baron restaurant concept originated in 1987 in the heart of Bellville. Popular demand dictated the need to open more outlets and the many awards that have been won in the prestigious Steakhouse of the Year competition by various Cattle Baron branches over the past years bears testimony to our success story.

    We have enjoyed the visit and meal at Cattle Baron Simonstown. Great venue with excellent food and friendly service. I will definitely see you again!

    The service was terrible in fact there was almost no service on a day where management should have known they were fully booked being fathers day. The buffet ran out and customers had to notify the staff to top up instead of staff monitoring the situation. The gravy was not true gravy just runny watery bisto. The roast potatoes were not crispy and you could taste reheated. Was our first time having the buffet, Cattle barons good is normally our favourite but we will not be returning for the buffet.

    I will start by mentioning I frequent CB Tygerwaterfront and have always had THE best experience. From the welcome, to the attentive staff, beautiful high end setting and most def excellent food. It was unfortunately lacking in all these aspects at CB Simonstown yesterday. Firstly, tables were not cleaned timeously, so were left with dirty plates and glasses long after patrons left. The waitress seemed to be all over the place , but was trying her best to attend to us, but wasnt very successful. Waiting on food was evident just by observing other tables and by the way, the place was not very busy, due to the fact that the buffet had ended by the time we arrived, this was our intention. Food arrived eventually, lacking basting and lack lusture presentantion. Taste was average. We will not be back, but rather to to CB Tygerwaterfront as we know exactly what to expect. CB Simonstown was a dissapointment unfortunately.

    The food and service was really good, the dessert however was not the best, the malva pudding was very doughy and got stuck to the top of our mouths.

    Waited an hour for our food because the kitchen ran out of gas. Chips was old and refried. They forgot my mushrooms and only brought it out after I was done with my meal and by then the mushrooms were overdone
