We decided to try a new restaurant for a team lunch at the V&A Waterfront, and unfortunately it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience — one I won’t be repeating. After 30min of placing our food order, we were informed there was only one chef on duty, and we were understanding that the food might take a little longer. However, over an hour later, a salad, a steak, and two seafood platters were still not ready. After an hour and a half of waiting, we were forced to leave to attend a scheduled meeting. What made the experience worse was the complete lack of service recovery. Not once did the waitress or manager come to our table to apologise, provide an update, or check in. I repeatedly had to leave the table to look for our waitress, who was often nowhere to be found — and this was despite the restaurant not being busy. We eventually asked for the bill and had the food packed as takeaway. The quality and value of the food were equally disappointing. The seafood platter for two (R499) consisted of one very small piece of fish, approximately 10 mussels, 4 prawns, a small portion of calamari, and rice — portioned in a way that would not reasonably satisfy even one person, let alone two. The chicken salad was missing several advertised ingredients, and when I asked for this to be corrected, it returned with two tiny pieces of avo that were difficult to even find. The onion rings served with the steak were burnt, but by that stage, my colleague — like the rest of us — was extremely hungry and had no choice. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had at the V&A Waterfront — not only because of the delays and poor value, but because of the lack of basic customer care, communication, and accountability.

Great experience! Love the theatrics when serving our drinks! Music was just to load had to shout to hear each other. Will definitely go back!

Loved it. Amazing food and cocktails. Got assisted by Thuli and Chris and absolutely loved their service. 🌸 side note- the girl with blonde/brown hair- it’ll be nice to actually SERVE food instead of just dumping it on the table and walk away. I wasn’t even sure if that was mine because the bar was full, you can do better 👍🏿 Oh… and absolutely loved the Valentine’s comp drinks🌸

Music was a bit too loud, couldn't hear yourself speak over the noise, food and service were good though.

This is really good bar/restaurant! The staff are fantastic! We ate here twice during our stay in Cape Town. We had fillet steak and small plates both were excellent! I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!
