Step into the gastronomic heart of the hotel and take your seat in an exclusive, hidden dining space. Watch in wonder as dishes are prepared right before your eyes—then uncover the inspiration behind each creation.

Inspired by the seasons and the desire to reduce our footprint on this wonderful land, the chefs have put their minds and attentions on sourcing, when possible, local organically grown produce that has the smallest impact on our environment. They deal with likeminded farmers and producers who share a desire that our children must also be able to share this land’s harvest with their children. They have excluded meat and fish intentionally and chosen to showcase and celebrate the wonderous bounty of Western Cape agriculture.

It was a very nice experience. The location in the kitchen is special. The host and the cook explained enthusiastically what we eat and drink. Also nice that the guests help by the preparation for the dish! My sister had a very special birthday due to this experience!

The location is not that hot that you will pay so much for this food. Food was good but it was not that fine dining !! We have thought that Jardin Restaurant chief cook is still in this kitchen

What a treat! We left full, so be sure to come hungry-it’s a lot of incredible food. Big thanks to our server/host Lazarus and our chef Isaac. An all-star team!

An excellent meal and wine pairing! Lazarus took great care to provide the significant details of each wine. The hard work by Chef and the rest of his team yielded dishes that were unique and very delicious. Thanks to everyone for a memorable anniversary dinner.

Bottom line: if you want this experience go to The Pot Luck Club and sit at or near the bar. It’s a bit cheaper and they REALLY cook in front of your eyes and you have windows everywhere with a perfect sunset overlooking Cape Town. This restaurant is full of potential but just falls flat. They are asking Michelin like prices and delivering a nicer restaurant service/atmosphere. When we were there there was literally nothing prepared in front of us and I had the seat the most in the corner and could barely see the kitchen. I think the issue is the Hotel is losing its fervor and when the guests don’t want to eat there there’s nothing to actually prepare for the guests at Chef’s Table. While we were there I think they made two Omelettes and a couple sandwiches. Then they finished preparing a couple of our dishes in front of us but that was quite underwhelming and some of the dishes were already made or prepared somewhere out of eye sight. The food we can’t say anything negative. It was good and presented nice. The wine was also good even if our waiter (who was extremely nice) presented it so fast it didn’t feel special. It’s just the whole experience just isn’t worth the money and the money could be better invested in another restaurant. They have a great idea but need to utilize it more. The table cloth had a hole in it, our waiter’s shirt seemed very worn which sounds mean but for these prices everything needs to be top notch and again so little was cooked in front of us that it just felt like being trapped in a very uninspired kitchen without windows and left us wanting more.
