Clara’s Barn is one of Vergenoegd Löw’s most historic spaces: a characterful former farm building that now provides an intimate setting for limited culinary experiences, private gatherings and special events.
The building’s early agricultural character remains visible in its cobblestone floors and original animal-feeding troughs, creating an atmospheric setting that connects contemporary hospitality with the farm’s centuries-old heritage.
Clara’s Barn’s culinary identity is rooted in the land, the seasons and the diverse cultures that have shaped Cape food history.
Ingredients are drawn from the estate wherever possible and cultivated according to regenerative and agroecological principles. These are complemented by seasonal produce from like-minded local suppliers.
Experiences hosted here are thoughtfully composed and paired with wines from the Vergenoegd Löw cellar, bringing together heritage, contemporary Cape flavour and the generous spirit of farm hospitality.
Clara’s Barn currently hosts selected culinary experiences and private events rather than operating as a permanently trading restaurant. Available events and dates are listed separately for booking.
