Half of the dishes were disappointing in terms of taste. The website menu differs from what we received. It's double the price of other high teas but you don't get anything more, better or different so it's not worth the money.

Appalling experience - I would give 0 stars if I could. I wanted to treat my dad to a special Father’s Day high tea, but the whole thing was a joke. For R695 a head and a table of 6, you expect top service - but we had to wait about 20 minutes between each course. Service was so slow that after one and a half hours we weren’t even a third of the way through! In-between courses we were left to sit bored and hungry. The tea was meant to go from 3pm to 5pm - so at 5.30pm (with 4 courses still to go) we had to ask for the rest to be packed up to take away. The waiter was trying his best but was clearly inexperienced and out of his depth. The explanations of what was being served were also underwhelming and delivered without any flair, and everything was just disjointed and awkward. The food itself was ok but certainly not amazing. I don’t blame the wait staff or kitchen though - this is 100% just poor management, lack of training and false advertising. Worst of all, Coco Safar's website clearly states with regards the High Tea, and I quote “whilst our Beverage Curator will help you pair your experience with a fitting botanical tea or specialty coffee experience table side…” there was no such beverage curator. We had to ask for a drinks menu, which we handed around and picked coffees and teas from ourselves - not at all the personalised, curated experience that we paid for. I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews of the high tea, it was a disaster - and a very expensive one! I paid over R4000 just to have an awful two and a half hours. I would strongly advise that anyone reading should steer clear of this place.

A biiiiiiiig thank you to Lara, Chris and Blessing for making this the most beautiful 'flight' ever. You come highly recommended. I am just in awe. 1. The service weren't great - we did not see the waiter often and waited a long time for our drinks. 2. We had to ask for the soup that was on the afternoon tea menu, as we did not receive it with our food and then it only arrived with the deserts. 3. The menu stated 2 different flavour macarons and only 2/4 of us received the 2nd macaron, because I assume they ran out. 4. We had 2 vegetarians at our table which I made clear when I made the booking and still they weren't catered for - they rectified the mistake after they brought the food and I noticed the chicken liver parfait. I am a little disappointed and expected more of this experience - I am not likely to recommend the high tea to anyone.

The sweet options as well as coffee and all drinks where absolutely amazing! We did the Mother's Day High Tea, and the dessert selection was by far the best on the menu. I was however highly disappointed with the savory selection. The sizes of the portions was a bit ridiculous. We had a quarter of a flat croissant each, a half of a half of a mini bagel, it was ridiculous considering the price I paid! Then when the dessert came, the portions where a decent size but way too much. Our waiter was nice but obviously overworked and did not have enough time to give proper attention to our table. I had to wait 20mins for extra milk. The one female manager was incredibly rude! We arrived half an hour early because my mother is disabled, and we had no idea where the restaurant was, so we wanted to arrive early to get her comfortable. We did not mind waiting as we where early, but the manager treated us like a major inconvenience, and when I asked her how the High Tea would work, she was dismissive and told me I had to wait for a waiter to assist me. For the price that is asked to dine here, and the service and treatment we received I will certainly not be spending my money here again and will most highly discourage all my friends and family from visiting.
