    Absolutely awesome! Extensive menu with lovely unique twists. Lamb riblets a winner! Excellent friendly service - felt like family by the time we left. Highly recommended. We will be back :))

    So, my daughter had to find a place to chill while waiting to fetch someone from a wedding, I did not want her to drive alone (from Cape Town) with the rains we were having, so I suggested we find a place to have dinner while we wait so I could subtly join her on the journey. I googled restaurant's in Wellington and the 2nd or 3rd option was "Cole - The Eatery". I did not look at the menu, I studied the comments/ reviews of the place, and they were all raving so I went online and made a booking. When we arrived, the place had emptied out after the rugby and was warm and inviting. A lovely waitress greeted us and said we were booked by a table that was a bit noisy and we were welcome to choose where we would like to sit, she offered us little blankets to cover our knees which we gladly welcomed and brought us menus. We chose our wine, enquired on some small changes on the dishes we had chosen (eg no chilli or ginger on my curry) and placed our order. To say the least the food was absolutely amazing, I ordered the lamb curry and my daughter ordered the short rib arrabiata pasta, the food and flavours were out of the world ( you know when you don't want to carry on eating because the food is going to be finished?) Beautifully presented, my curry came with a garlic butter flatbread that was soooo good I had to order another. We were constantly checked on, the owner's husband came to the table to chat and we really felt welcomed and at home. Once we had finished and the table cleared, we decided we had to try the desserts. My daughter chose the Gelato and I had the malva pudding with custard - OMG!! So divine!! Then the Owner NICOLE came to chat to us - well what a divine lady - we chatted for over an hour, like we had know each other forever, shared a coffee, and had a marvelous time. It was sad to leave and we will definitely be back, we are sad we don't live in wellington so we can pop in more often!!!! But we will definitely do a few return trips to visit. Thank you Nicole for a very memorable evening and sublime food, and making us feel at home, we loved every minute!! See you soon. Mandy and Kaylee xxxx
