We absolutely loved the evening and felt pampered by all involved. Highly recommend the experience.

A mixed experience. Site of venue is spectacular; staff were great; we had the "edit" menu which overall was interesting - taste wise super and presentation well done. The wine menu was extortionist and sadly priced for hard currency tourists. This leaves literally a bad taste because it calls into question the whole value system of the owners and the pricing...no doubt needed to pay the rent on the venue. "Value"' is a perception - for me it is around a fair exchange - I enjoy a fair transaction where price is an agreed measure and I don't begrudge paying where there is fair value. This was an "ok" experience but nothing beyond that.

The service was great. As we were celebrating a special occasion, they kindly served us two complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. We visited on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was very cold, although I was seated next to the fireplace. The restaurant was almost empty — my husband and I were the only guests inside, with just one other couple seated outside. They offered a winter special menu last year, but not this year. Perhaps that is one of the reasons they were so quiet. We ordered two starters and two mains from the à la carte menu. Unfortunately, we felt quite rushed. The two starters arrived, and after only a few bites, our mains — a hot pie and ox tongue — were brought to the table. We had to stop eating our starters and move on to the mains to avoid the food getting cold. The food tasted good, but it was not what I would expect from an award-winning restaurant, especially when compared to other restaurants we have experienced in Cape Town. I could have enjoyed a similar pie at a good local pub. Overall, I would not return.

Food was amazing, portions are a bit small but well worth it. Enjoyed the 5 star service and great ambience... Also shout out to the DJ song selection was on point.

This was the first time I visited Coy restaurant for lunch. We were the only guests. The staff ibformed us that most guest are. Comibg in the evening. Beside that tge food was delicious. There is a choice between a 7 course menu and a tapas menu.We choose the tapas. We ordered 5 different tapas, beef tartare, tuna seared tuna, flat bread and Coy pie.Everything was delicious and we shared everything which was more than enough for us.We ordered a bottle of wine the staff could not find immidiately in the cellar. As a compensation the staff offered us 2 glasses champagne. The staff was very friendly so no complains at all. Price is not cheap but you get quality for your money.

I've been to Coy a couple of times now. Even though the food is inventive, well-prepared and above all yummy, prices are a bit out of touch and simply too steep for partrons to regularly return. The cocktails are ridiculously expensive for the silly sized cocktail glasses they're served in and the steep mark-up on wine is equally unnecessary and frankly off-putting. All-in-all a nice experience but at too steep a price point.
