Ranging from our knowledgeable and attentive staff and our world-famous Wine and Food Pairing options to elegant touches such as our superior Riedel glassware – everything combines to offer our guests a truly memorable experience. And that includes our younger visitors for whom we cater with a special Young Adults Menu as well as their very own Kiddies Pairing!

Gourmet Guide Description

The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley boasts many beautiful wine farms, with
Creation often first-to-mind for both international and local culinary
explorers. This one may not bear the traditional name of restaurant,
eatery or bistro, but be sure that when you dine at Creation’s Tasting
Room, you will enjoy the fruits of the vine equally with that of the local
bounty.

Every season sees a new, innovative and meticulously crafted adventure
that appeals equally to connoisseurs and epicureans. Gluten and lactosefree, each of the six chapters in the story are paired perfectly with coolclimate, award-winning Creation wines. Dishes will impress – like the
abalone sushi with gochujang, sesame seeds and sorrel. The integrated
kitchen team, under the leadership of chef Eleanor Niehaus, allows their
own tradition, talent and experience to contribute to the ever-evolving
menu that responds to the environment.

The team takes culinary innovation to new and unexplored heights,
celebrating South Africa, its terroir and local produce. Every sense
is stimulated, with music, fragrance, touch and legacy being part
of the awakening. The setting is intoxicating, and the well-versed,
passionate hosts ensure that you will be impressed by a commentated
and immersive gastronomic experience. There is something for
everyone – the wine-and-food pairing, an a la carte menu that has a
wide spectrum of both savoury and sweet dishes. There’s a breakfast
menu, kids’ menu and the option of sitting quietly absorbing the view,
quaffing wine over an artfully presented cheese and charcuterie platter.
Vegans are well catered for, genuinely and imaginatively. Health and
wellbeing are not boxes to be ticked, but a mantra to live by.

Start your journey, slowly building to a crescendo of more complex
dishes. All are a true reflection of the indigenous beauty and bounty
of the Overberg and Cape Floral Kingdom.

Overpriced and underwhelming While the tasting menu seems to be fairly good value the a la carte pricing is astronomical for what you receive, and the flavours are just not there. The wines are excellent and the setting beautiful but the food does not measure up. The tuna in the a la carte poke bowl was not fresh and only amount to about 6 small cubes.Go for a wine tasting, have a walk around the garden but eat somewhere else.
