At Culinary Table, we believe in creating our food from scratch. Where possible our meat is free range and sourced directly from the producers, and our vegetables are from our very own organic garden.
The menu changes monthly to incorporate seasonal changes, new inspiration and balance the ever changing availability of ingredients in season.
Slow fermentation breads, small batch roasted coffee, dry-aged beef, hormone free meats and locally sourced organic where possible fruit and vegetables - at Culinary Table, we makes an effort to preserve the integrity of all good things relating to food.

    The risk is a power outage; in this day and age, a business like the Culinary Table should mitigate against power outages. The fact that once a power outage occurred, we could not even get a cup of tea is not good.

    I had made a booking on dineplan but had booked outside. When I arrived it was raining and cold so I wanted to move my table to inside, yet two people in the queue behind me were seated inside before me WITHOUT a booking! I had to then wait for them to arrange a table for me inside. I had asked the lady if my guests had arrived before me and she said NO. Meanwhile my sisters were already there and had been reseated inside way before I got there. What a mess up before I had even sat down. Then the marrow bone meal we ordered we had to ask for an extra bone as they only served one and it was so shallow it only contained enough marrow to cover a 1/4 of the pita provided. So, not my best experience at this restaurant.

    From booking to dining to leaving we had such a great time - Maureen, our waitress, was kind, attentive and very lovely! As my sister said - there aren't too many non-chain restaurants in JHB that have attention to detail in a beautiful setting and Culinary is exemplary. We will be back! Thank you

    Pasta Ragu came with large flat and badly cooked nuddles that were stuck togehter and a ragu sauce that was obviously old and reheated many times. Moules et Frites came without fries and the lame excuse was that the kitchen had run out of fries (?!) and boiled rice was offered as a substitute. The fish cake was oversalted. The fish tasted of bad oil. Coffee was served without sugar and sugar arrived when the coffee was cold. The white wine served was warm. The waiter kept reaching over the table instead of walking around the table and was generally in a sullen and unresponsive disposition. What used to be an exciting venue, well worth a long drive to get there, has become an unattractive place with a dramatically scaled down number of menu choices. What a pitty, it will be my last visit. You obviously don't care about you business any longer.
