This was my second time at Cyra and it was quite difference from the first time. Disappointed wouldn't begin to describe how I felt about the food... Here's my review on the courses: The mussels barely had a sauce to go with and there was just no depth of flavour. They had a "fancy" thin chicken skin on top, but they simply tasted ordinary. My duck was overcooked rubbery duck! Sacrilege. I was even struggling to cut it. Had to turn it back because it was simply inedible. I got the salmon as a replacement, which was okay. Seared to my preference, nice and soft. But again, it was just the same as salmon that I make at home. The last course was a ginger malva pudding, and again, it was underwhelming. It came with some caramel thick cream and an ice cream. No creme anglaise, or anything saucy to dip the pudding into. The food was just a solid let down. On the flip side, the service was incredible and we enjoyed the overall ambience of the private room.

Extraordinary food- well balanced and full of taste. I liked every single thing from the 7 course menu. The service is impeccable- prompt, informative but non intrusive and rather caring.

Excellent food, attentive and polished service and a relaxed atmosphere made for a superb evening out. We had the 7-course menu with wine pairing - I would have chosen different wines with the mussels and ginger malva courses, but that is mostly personal preference. The bread and snacks with chenin blanc worked better than I thought it would. The duck with pinot noir pairing showed clearly why this is such a classic pairing. Beef shortrib and pinotage induced a feeling of contentment. Sherry and Gryuere very well balanced. Service was attentive without being intrusive and table visits to all patrons by chef Candice Philip an excellent touch. Tables are well spaced with small screens forming local alcoves of own space. We will be back!

Had a solo birthday dinner and the entire staff made it special for me. I also loved how everyone called me Fifi. The food was divine, the staff was welcoming, friendly and they pay attention to detail. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful.
