    From the moment we arrived to the time that we left we had an amazing time. It was wonderful to have the little surprises in between courses. The staff was excellent and I will definitely come back and recommend this to my peers. Thank you for a wonderful evening ❤️

    An exceptional fine dining experience. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. Beautiful location and decor. Warm, welcoming team. Each meal is beautifully plated and presented and I loved the story behind it. They have a great wine list too. From the personalised menus to the chef coming to meet us to the very sweet server, it was an absolute treat. I would highly recommend De Tafel!

    The concept and vision and mission seemed to be focused on the natural and authenticity of the ingredients yet the delivery of the beautifully sourced ingredients was quiet contrary as everything was moussed, foamed and processed into the opposite of the intention authenticity. Could do with more South African flavor and natural state of the ingredients used to carry through the message and intention.

    Hi Maya, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and perspective. We truly appreciate feedback like this, and we would love to share a little more about the intention behind the menu. The entire menu is centred around entirely South African ingredients, many of which are indigenous and endemic and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Some of these ingredients are rarely used in other kitchens and require a great deal of knowledge, care and preparation to bring out their best qualities. Our use of different techniques, textures, airs, foams and mousses is very intentional. Rather than taking away from the ingredients, our aim is to explore and celebrate them in different ways, while remaining true to our zero-waste philosophy and making use of as much of each ingredient as possible. We are incredibly proud of the talented team behind the menu and the creativity and skill that goes into working with these unique ingredients. We completely appreciate that everyone experiences food differently, and we are grateful that you shared your experience with us. Thank you Gregory Henderson

    A must dine in Cape Town! Beautiful nature n your plate to your palate. Got the 7 course tasting menu, Refugia. Love the details and passion. It's not just delicious, it's art!
