    The dinner was overwhelmingly good! The chef puts so much effort on details and history of the ingredients as well! The service was outstanding friendly. We enjoyed every second at de Tafel and will definitely come back.

    This rates among our best fine dining experiences in Cape Town. Kudos to the Chef for achieving a superb balance between creativity, simplicity and delisciousness. A big shout out to the staff and somilier for creating anticipation and atmosphere

    We dined at De Tafel Restaurant at Palm House Boutique Hotel last night to celebrate my 2-year business anniversary, and it was the perfect choice for such a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, with a beautiful setting that immediately made the evening feel memorable. The food was exceptional — thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Every course felt carefully curated and truly enjoyable. The service was attentive, professional, and warm, striking the perfect balance between being present and allowing us to enjoy the experience at our own pace. It’s clear that great care is taken in every detail, from the cuisine to the overall guest experience. De Tafel is a wonderful spot for a celebration, special milestone, or intimate evening out. I’m so glad we chose to mark this important moment here and would highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back.

    While the food was generally excellent, the verbal presentation was pretentious and detracted from the whole experience. It also took an hour for the first course to arrive and three hours to get through all five. I suggest less story and more service.

    Excellent dinner! what a wonderful experience. The restaurant is beautiful and intimate, with service that is warm and welcoming. The food was beautifully prepared, with a story behind it all and everything we ate was absolutely delicious. We heard about the restaurant from a friend and it absolutely exceeded all expectations.
