Kick off your shoes on a pristine and isolated beach at South Africa’s favourite holiday town, Mossel Bay in the Garden Route. Sip some wine, gaze over the ocean and indulge in seafood in abundance! We at De Vette Mossel strive to offer much more than merely perfectly prepared seafood – this is an experience, in unusual and informal surroundings, where you relax with friends (old ones and newly found ones) where your time is your own and where you may eat as much as you like – just like we do along the West Coast.

The excellent preparation of top quality seafood, in abundance, and value for money, is our pride. Relax, wind down – we eat for nearly three hours! And remember, we will never run out of anything – the worst that can happen is that more is on the way!

    Die idee dat ’n mens jou eie coolbox kan saamneem, is uitstekend. Ek dink baie mense sal dit eerder doen, want as jy by ’n gewone restaurant gaan eet en jy drink net ’n cider of selfs ’n bier of twee, kan die drankies jou amper meer kos as die kos! ’n Mens se oë is immers dikwels groter as jou beursie. 😄 ’n Mens gaan restaurant toe om lekker saam met ander mense te kuier en gesellig te verkeer, maar die pryse van kos en veral drankies het deesdae só gestyg dat ’n mens soms eerder besluit om tuis te bly. As mense hulle eie koeldrank, water of selfs ’n paar drankies kan saambring, maak dit die hele uitstappie baie meer bekostigbaar en kan ’n mens steeds lekker saam kuier.

    Even with torrential rain, the atmosphere from the host and the chefs were positive and the food was incredible! When it is raining or chilly, rather dress warmly, but support local and don't cancel last minute. There is a covered area and the chefs bring the food to you under the covered area. You don't need to walk in the rain to get to the delicious food.
