We are a cashless property.

At Delheim we are extremely proud of our atmospheric “Downstairs” cellardoor, with its famous cobwebbed window. Very little has changed here over the years since it became the birthplace of the Stellenbosch Wine Route in 1971. The patriarch of the Sperling family, Michael “Spatz” Sperling, was one of the three founder members of this wine route, from which all the other wine routes in the country originated. It is therefore imperative that we continue to provide guests with a truly unique South African hospitality experience, and to make them feel at home, in order to share our belief that a visit to Delheim really is “worth the journey”.

WINE & FYNBOS CUPCAKE PAIRING

Delheim has always been famous for its tasting room pairing of bespoke cupcakes with its wines. Now, the experience goes next-level with an all-new twist of this evergreen favourite that puts the Cape’s famous Floral Kingdom and the Stellenbosch stalwart’s eco-friendly winemaking front-and-centre.

This latest addition employs an entirely new range of fynbos-inspired cupcakes to showcase the excellence of Delheim wines.

We love the family oriented, unpretentious, un-touristified ambience and sheer peace and beauty of Delheim. It feels like a protected slice of the Cape before the world descended on it and is exactly as I fondly remember it as a young woman 40 years ago. Delheim Days have become one of our Family Rituals to share a meal there when we gather from various places in the world. Food is outstanding especially the restaurant- rare fondues. And August your sommelier / wine master is an absolute artist in genteel persuasion. Please don’t change a thing!!

It was a beautiful experience. Truly enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend it. 🫰🏽 I got a champagne as a gift from the boss as I was there with friends to celebrate my birthday. The reception was warm and team is so friendly, kind people. Keep up the good work! ❤️

When we arrived (in the cold rain) we were warmly welcomed with a shot of warm Gluhwein and an umbrella. Loved that. We walked to the Downstairs Cellar and began our wine tasting which was pleasant. Our waitress was knowledge and great. The portions of wine for tasting are smaller than Delheim's contemporaries. The cheeseboard was good. The ambience was good but would have been nice to have had some background music and a fireplace.
