Fathers Day - For the Love of Fire and Feast

Treat Dad to the ultimate feast this Fathers Day at Deux Lions! Think lamb on the spit, BBQ chicken quarters, pork neck rotisserie - and that is just the start. Add a creamy potato bake, vibrant seasonal sides, and to finish off with pear and apple strudel or classic milk tart topped with fresh berries. All for R650 per person and every bite made to celebrate the legends we call Dad. Bookings are essential.

    Not good value. No chance I will be seeing this restaurant in the foreseeable future.

    Very nice venue and pleasant staff but the lamb was underdone.

    Hi there Henry, thank you for the review, we appreciate your feedback. We are glad that you like our venue, and that you found our staff pleasant. We are so sorry to hear that your lamb was under cooked... Our lamb dish consist of two lamb meat cuts, 1 being the de-boned rolled shoulder, which is braised for 2 hours until soft, and 2 being the herb crusted loin as a duo.. The loin we always cook at medium temperature which we allow to rest before we serve it. We are saddened that the loin was not cooked to your preference which could have been more towards medium-well to well-done. Please feel free to send us an email to kitchen@deuxlions.za.com, in order for us to completely understand why your lamb was under-cooked, as there could have been an error in communication with regards to your preferred temperature request on the lamb loin.     My wife had the seafood risotto, and I had the lamb shoulder. The taste was fantastic. The Deux Lions wines were smooth and tasty. The garden is beautiful and relaxing. The waitron and chef were professional and friendly. We celebrated our 1-year anniversary, and I am totally happy we did it here. Worth checking out. I am not really experienced in fine dining, but I would say this is in the direction of fine dining. The meals are not large, so perhaps not the place to go if you are really hungry. But it was just enough for the occasion. We loved it!

    This place is magical! Lunching on the lawn under the huge oak trees, the manicured garden spread out before you, would make anyone feel charmed. Add in the delicious food, beautifully prepared and plated, the attentive service, and the perfection of La Bri wines, and it becomes the best meal we’ve enjoyed in Franschhoek in a long time. Deux Lions is just a short drive out of town and provides the perfect escape from the bustle of Main Road. We consider this an excellent value for money in the ever-increasing demand on your dining Rands.
