under one roof — a celebration of South African heritage and Asian flair, led by Executive
Chef Jaycee Ferreira.
At East City Grill, Ferreira’s flame-led cooking and local Wagyu define a menu rooted in
South African tradition yet shaped by Asian influence and Cape Town’s modern edge.
Across the room, Yakiniku offers an immersive Japanese-style grill experience inspired by
Tokyo’s smoky yakiniku-ya, where guests cook, share, and connect around the flame.
Housed within a landmark hemp building designed by Wolf & Wolf Architects, it’s two
flames, one destination, and a new rhythm for the city.

    This was not my first visit, I came back just for the dauphinoise potatoes! And the tempura calamari. So good. ECG had a great buzz to it, on a blustery Cape Town evening – but the restaurant was warm and inviting. Food was exceptional and service was brilliant (again); a sign of a good restaurant. 10/10

    I loved the atmosphere as well as the excellent staff. Loved the starter collection especially the short rib bitterballen as well my excellent prepared sirloin steak. The East city precinct as well is worth a visit. Great wine and liquor selection to accompany great food. Treat yourself and go have a meal. Thanks
