Located at 84 Harrington Street, East City Grill & Yakiniku brings two dining concepts
under one roof — a celebration of South African heritage and Asian flair, led by Executive
Chef Jaycee Ferreira.
At East City Grill, Ferreira’s flame-led cooking and local Wagyu define a menu rooted in
South African tradition yet shaped by Asian influence and Cape Town’s modern edge.
Across the room, Yakiniku offers an immersive Japanese-style grill experience inspired by
Tokyo’s smoky yakiniku-ya, where guests cook, share, and connect around the flame.
Housed within a landmark hemp building designed by Wolf & Wolf Architects, it’s two
flames, one destination, and a new rhythm for the city.

Wonderful new addition to the city's dining scene -- interesting and appealing menu, excellent food, great service and good value for money. What more could you ask? Will definitely be going back!

Beautifully decorated,,excellent staff, great experience. A definite must! A little pricey on their food but worth it. Great wine list. Cocktails are very reasonable at R90 a Margarita. We’ll be back!

Great food and service. Everything was fresh and delicious. Decent wine list with something for everyone. Would be great to have à la carte options for the Japanese grill and not just a set menu. We were the only ones there at lunch time on a Wednesday so I guess people in the area don’t want to spend R800 per person on a casual lunch

The food was really amazing! The quality of the meat was excellent and preparation was spot on. We had the Cheese soufflé - wow! The pickeled tomatoe burrata salad - couldn‘t get enough!
