    Exceptional food and team is so great! I messed up with my booking date and they went out of their way to assist and make a plan which made it extra special. Highly recommend this fantastic Parkhurst gem - a firm favourite!

    There's an epidemic in Joburg at the moment of stunningly beautiful restaurants charging an arm and a leg for the most mediocre food (just last week, I was served 4 tiny pieces of dry-ass brisket at another establishment for TWO HUNDRED ROND - but I digress). But I'm so glad that Embarc doesn't fall into this category of meh-restaurant! The food is delicious, interesting, and considered. You can taste and feel the years of craft on each plate. I haven't enjoyed a meal this much in a really long time. We had the calamari snack and truffle fries to start, and then the ostrich and line fish for mains. Chef's kiss! We finished with the basque cheesecake and one of the most interesting desserts I've ever had consisting of burnt honey ice cream, figs, coffee and goat's cheese. YUM. The little touches of the free amuse bouche and even the truffles you get with the bill are so welcome in an industry where even the complimentary bread has disappeared altogether. Run, don't walk!
