    Great dining experience in Parkhurst - with a new head chef it's all guns blazing - you really must visit Embarc if you haven't been by now!

    Average food, restaurant needs better front of house management. Having pots, pans and boxes of food being delivered through the restaurant was not good for the ambiance.

    Easily the best food in Johannesburg - maybe Gauteng? Exciting to see what happens with the wine offering in time.

    It would be great if the waiters were more forthcoming with explanations of the various dishes - and if there were more detailed explanations on the menu Lamb samoosas were outstanding, as were oysters. Calamari noodles with cashew had interesting flavours. Korean chicken wings were not in the same league as the other starters, according to my dining partner. Kiwi pavlova was delicious. Lovely combination of dishes .The complimentary starter was a lovely touch

    Epicure is our favourite restaurant for special occasions. The food is always interesting (I missed the duck this time - was not on the menu) but hadthe nuchroom chevice which was really different and amasing. My husband had the lamb belly - also smecial. The staff are attentive, friendly and sharp. Our 45th wedding anniversary came up by accident while making small talk when we ordered our espresso and the waiter brought such a delicious desert to share (kivi pavlova) on the house. This was not too sweet. Thank you Embarc for making the evening special. (we understand that there isn't space for a large noisy group to have a private party, so it didn't bother too much. Luckily they left early and the staff rearranged tables swiftly) after that, the ambiance went back to normal
