    I dined at Embarc Restaurant yesterday and had a mixed experience. On a positive note, the food was inconsistent but there were some standout dishes. The scallops were excellent, the Dirty Chicken was flavorful and well prepared, and the Mess Eton dessert was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. Unfortunately, the service did not meet the standard I expected. Mr. Brain Ngcobo, who attended to our table, came across as inhospitable and did not demonstrate the level of attentiveness and dining etiquette that one would expect from a fine dining establishment. This detracted significantly from the overall experience. In addition, the pumpkin pasta starter was undercooked and disappointing, especially when compared to the quality of the other dishes we enjoyed. While the kitchen clearly has the ability to produce some exceptional food, the shortcomings in service and the inconsistency in execution left me feeling disappointed overall. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve, as it has the potential to offer a truly outstanding dining experience.
