The interior is relaxed with a neutral colour palette and Scandi-style furniture. Outside the colourful hubbub of street life continues with vendors selling a variety of products on this busy 4th Avenue shopping and dining strip.
Chef Darren O’Donovan’s pedigree is impressive, with stints working at Cube Tasting Kitchen, LBV and Aurum Restaurant, plus working abroad. He brings all his skill to his own venture offering high-end contemporary dining that is unpretentious and accessible, both in terms of flavour and cost.
Even the set-up of the menu is user-friendly to a range of diners. It offers the choice to have every dish as a starter or main portion so patrons can create their own tasting menu, share a variety of plates with a party of friends while those who simply don’t like divvying up their food can order their own.
There are three dishes that have been on the Embarc menu since Day One: the fries loaded with Truffle mayonnaise and Parmigiano Reggiano; the Kataifi prawns, crunchy on the outside thanks to the phyllo pastry and soft and succulent on the inside with a hint of Thai Tom Yum and the baked signature white chocolate crème with lavender and honeycomb. There is an impressive wine list with many offerings available by the glass.
