Lunch is available 7 days a week.
Dinner is available on Thursday, Friday & Saturday Evenings, November – May annually.

For a more casual setting, guests are also invited to enjoy select dishes from our Grillworks menu available exclusively in the Tasting Room. Designed to pair beautifully with the Ernie Els wines, these dishes offer a flavour-forward, leisurely alternative in an equally scenic and welcoming space.

Experience our current vintage Ernie Els Signature, expertly paired with a Rare Roast Beef, Beetroot Tartare, Crispy Greens & Burnt Aubergine Canape, followed by a Beetroot, Berry & Black Pepper Palate Cleanser Sorbet. The tasting concludes with a carefully selected vintage wine from our Vinoteque, showcasing the age-worthy elegance and complexity that define our wines over time. Available daily from 10h00 to 12h00 for R395 per tasting. Bookings are essential.

    We chose Ernie Els for a special thank-you lunch, confident in the restaurant's ability to deliver exceptional food and attentive service, based on our numerous outstanding previous experiences. Unfortunately, our most recent visit presented a distinct and highly disappointing deviation from this established standard. The decline in service was noticeable from the moment we arrived. The host’s greeting was cursory, instructing us to essentially find our own table, which immediately set a detached tone. Although we had called ahead to confirm the reduction from ten to six guests, the initial lack of engagement was poor. Our assigned waiter demonstrated a concerning lack of attentiveness, remaining absent from the table for extended periods throughout the meal. The meal began poorly with the bread course, which was significantly downgraded from the usual selection. The single variety offered was served cold, a disappointing and basic error that lacked the quality expected of the establishment. The serving of all three courses was executed in a manner reminiscent of an auction, with the waiter verbally asking who ordered which dish. At this level of dining, it is expected that dishes are correctly placed in front of the respective diner. A significant issue arose with the main course steaks. While my medium-rare steak was cooked correctly, my son's was delivered medium-well. When this error was pointed out, the waiter attempted to place the blame on the order process, suggesting I had ordered a medium temperature, which was incorrect and indicative of his poor attention to detail. Resolution and Conclusion: We appreciate that a manager intervened to resolve the steak temperature issue, ensuring a correctly prepared dish was delivered promptly. However, the overall lack of professional service, from the cold bread to the 'auction' delivery and the critical cooking error overshadowed the quality of the final replacement dish.

    Great experience, great job of the waiter. Ambience: Our table outside was in the back. So the view was not best. Unfortunately it was windy, what did not help for a better ambience.

    Professional setup, perfect presentation of wines, delicious food and the interior design is awesome. Obviously the best wine presentation spot in Stellenbosch and above
